The late trend of HID lights, clear lights, projector lights and what not has grown real popular over the last few years. Some say that this is best left to the import guys and sport trucks, but I think it can look very nice on a Camaro and other domestics as well. Clear taillights and "Altezza" style taillights is pushing it in my book though!

When I decided to do a headlight upgrade on the Camaro, I had several ideas in mind. One was to get a set of fullsize truck projector lamps and custom fit them, but I couldn't decide if I liked it or not after numerous "photoshop-versions". So, I went with my other choice which basically involves an H4 conversion with crystal clear headlights. The H4 bulbs are replaceable compared to the stock sealed beam lights where one has to replace the whole lamp when they go out.

After looking high and low for a design that I liked, I finally came across one on ebay.com. My main goal was that it should not look good and not "cheap". There are several brands out there that have a reflector that has way too much of a diamond-like look for my taste.

The company that sold the lights I bought, was Initial K. Auto Concepts, Inc. out of Walnut, California. They were a breeze to work with and the headlights were definitely of a quality I would recommend anyone.

The installation of the lights are really pretty simple. This was especially since the kit I got included the pigtails needed to convert the stock wiring to accomodate the H4 bulbs.

The only necessary modification I had to do, was to open up the back of the headlight "sockets" a little bit to fit the larger rear part (due to the removable H4 bulbs) of these lights.
That is easilly done with a grinder, dremel or a hack saw. Just remember to put some black paint over the edges after cutting them so they won't rust.

I think the clear headlights gave a cleaner and more modern look to the front end than the stock lights. I get compliments on them all the time! They compliment the white side markers nicely as well.
